01

A little background

Three’s UK launch in 2003 made 3G a central part of its identity. The combination of Three UK with Vodafone UK completed in May 2025. A corporate milestone is useful background, but the terms of a particular Three line still need to be read in their own right.

02

SIMs, phones and monthly arrangements

Three has SIM-only services, handset arrangements and data connections. With a phone, identify the airtime agreement and any separate device commitment. Three Your Way plan names can refer to different entitlements: make a note of the exact version and start date rather than relying on a headline.

03

PAYG and renewal: check the model

Three PAYG uses credit and Data Packs. Check whether a pack is active, when it ends and how another pack will be funded. Its official help also describes activity requirements for keeping a PAYG number active. Voice PAYG and data-only mobile broadband have distinct instructions.

04

The physical or digital SIM

Three’s eSIM help covers monthly and PAYG replacement journeys in My3 and the Three app. A compatible phone and access to account verification are still required. Do not remove the existing profile until you understand the official replacement sequence.

05

The billing conversation

For Three, start with the statement date and the line it describes. Mark the regular service, any device component and optional activity separately. If an item is unclear, ask for its period, category and supporting explanation. Use My3 and the Three app through the genuine provider site. Keep a written reference rather than relying on memory of a call.

06

A number move is its own task

If moving a single UK number away from Three, the general PAC route is to text PAC to 65075. Review the expiry and leaving information, then give a valid code to the next provider. A multi-number account may need an online or telephone request. For a legacy service or a non-mobile product, establish the correct process first. Read our number-transfer guide for the full distinction.

07

Reception needs a location

Three / VodafoneThree is background context, not a guarantee of reception in a particular building. Check Three’s current coverage and disruption information. Record the affected function, phone, location and time if use repeatedly fails. Authorised technical investigation stays with the provider; our team cannot alter a line.

08

Travel and international use

Go Roam is a family of travel rules, not a universal promise attached to the Three name. Read the version associated with the line, the destination and the intended usage. A call placed in Britain to an overseas number needs an international-calling check instead.

09

Home internet and connected equipment

Three supplies cellular home and mobile broadband. Mobile broadband can be monthly or PAYG; a data-only SIM is intended for connected equipment. Assess the router, address eligibility and placement in the property separately from a phone’s reception.

10

Upgrading, leaving and future changes

Keep the contract summary for the exact Three service. Before a change, ask whether the term restarts, a device obligation continues or a linked benefit ends. Read any scheduled annual adjustment and its effective date in the agreement. Confirm which subscriptions survive a cancellation, and review the last statement after the service ends.
