PLANS AND PAYMENT / QUESTION 05
Put the dates in order
A practical explanation to read before you act.
A monthly service has several useful dates: activation, allowance refresh, statement issue and payment collection. These need not fall on the same day. A minimum-term end date is another separate milestone.
LOOK CLOSER
What to establish first
Create a simple timeline from the contract summary and recent statement. If the first bill differs from expectation, look for a partial service period, payment in advance or an optional feature before assuming an error.
THE NEXT STEP
Keep the distinction clear
Ask the provider what happens at the minimum-term end and whether a change starts another commitment. Do not stop an authorised payment without understanding the remaining obligations and the provider’s leaving process.
