PLANS AND PAYMENT / QUESTION 08

Read the future change, too

A practical explanation to read before you act.

For new contracts from 17 January 2025, Ofcom prohibits inflation-linked or percentage-based rises written into the agreement. Any specified in-contract increase must be clearly stated upfront in pounds and pence, including when it happens.
LOOK CLOSER

What to establish first

This does not mean every bill is frozen. Read the actual schedule in the contract and keep a copy of the summary. Older agreements and changes to usage can lead to different questions.

THE NEXT STEP

Keep the distinction clear

We do not publish live tariff amounts. If a bill changes, identify whether the cause is a scheduled service adjustment, additional use, a benefit ending or another component, then seek the provider’s current explanation.
