PAYG is not one universal payment model. Some accounts use ordinary credit; others use a pack that refreshes or renews. A rolling prepaid product can still hold a recurring payment authority.
What to establish first
Check the active allowance, expiry and source of the next payment. Find out what happens if there is insufficient credit or the registered card fails. Keep inactivity requirements in view when a number is used only occasionally.
Keep the distinction clear
Use the named provider’s current instructions. A top-up code from one network cannot be assumed to apply to another, and moving a SIM to a different phone does not change the underlying renewal setting.
